Payroll Software Tax Scales ListElite Payroll Software is designed with small business in mind. Payroll Software Tax applies if the total annual wages bill from all sites (if part of a group of companies, from all members of that group) throughout Australia exceeds the threshold for the state. Selecting this command displays a list of the Payroll Software tax thresholds for each state. Elite Payroll Software includes the most recent Payroll Software tax scales available at the time. However, since tax scales change over time, you'll need to periodically update your tax scales. You can update your tax scales manually through the Payroll Software Tax Scales list or by downloading an update file from the Elite Payroll Software website (see Update by Internet) and then upload the file to Elite Payroll Software through the Company Tour Guide section. Changing the thresholds or percentages for a Payroll Software tax scale1 From the Lists menu, choose Payroll Software Tax Scales. 2 Click to select the Payroll Software tax scale you want to change, and click Payroll Software Tax Scales>Edit. 3 Under Last Update, enter the current date so you know when this scale was last updated. 4 Under Threshold, enter the total gross wages for the year. For example, if you enter 456000, Elite Payroll Software won't calculate Payroll Software tax until the wages exceed the $456,000 threshold. Elite Payroll Software calculates the monthly threshold based on the yearly total. 5 Under Multiplier, enter the percentage of total gross wages that should be paid to State Revenue. 6 If there is more than one threshold, repeat steps 4 and 5 until all the changes required have been done. 7 Click OK. Note Elite Payroll Software works on a daily basis. This means that some months the Payroll Software tax payable will match the same manually calculated figure. Other months it will be slightly more or slightly less. At the end of the year you will have paid the exact amount due. |
