Non-Residents in your Payroll Software

If an employee is a non-resident (the employee answered "No" to the question "Are you an Australian resident for tax purposes" on the TFN Declaration), you must apply the Non-resident tax rates.

To apply the non-resident tax scale:

1 From the Lists menu, choose Employees.

2 Click to select the employee and then click Employee>Edit. The Edit Employee window is displayed.

3 Click the Taxation tab.

4 From the Tax Scale drop-down list, select Non-residents.

5 Click OK.
