Rebates and Family Tax Assistance in your Payroll SoftwareLink to most major accounting packages using Elite Payroll Software export options. Rebates reduce tax payable and are spread over the whole year in weekly instalments. Family Tax Assistance (FTA) allows families with dependent children to pay less tax by increasing the tax-free threshold. If an employee claims FTA or a rebate in the Rebates and Family Tax Assistance question on the TFN Declaration, you must adjust the employee's Payroll Software as follows: 1 Calculate the rebate or FTA amount the employee will receive each pay period. 2 From the Lists menu, choose Employees. 3 Click to select the employee and then click Employee>Edit. The Edit Employee window is displayed. 4 Click the Taxation tab. 5 In the Extra Tax Contribution or Rebate (-ve) box, enter the amount calculated in Step 1 as a negative figure. 6 Click OK. |
